Marshall 2525C Studio Jubilee 20/5W 1x12" Tube Combo Amp
The Marshall 2525C Studio Jubilee is a 20-watt tube combo, switchable to 5 watts, with a 12" Celestion G12M-25: the Silver Jubilee sound, from sparkling cleans to gritty distortion, in a size that fits in a bedroom.
What sets it apart
- 20W or 5W at the flick of a switch
- Two EL34 output tubes
- Rhythm clip by pulling the gain knob
- DI output and switchable series effects loop
- 12" Celestion G12M-25
- Hand-soldered in the UK, footswitch included
The Silver Jubilee, scaled down
Marshall notes that the original Silver Jubilee soon won over guitarists such as Slash and John Frusciante, drawn by its aggressive voice and its split channels. The 2525C keeps that character: three-band EQ with presence, Lead Master and Output Master, and channel switching by pulling the Output Master knob.
From bedroom to studio
At 5 watts, you can drive the tubes at room volume; at 20 watts, the combo keeps up with a drummer in rehearsal. The rhythm clip adds bite to rhythm parts, the loop takes delays and reverbs, and the DI output sends the signal to a desk or interface.

Frequently asked questions
- Is the 2525C good for bedroom practice?
- Yes, that's what Marshall intends the 5W mode for: pushing the tubes at a more reasonable volume, then switching to 20W in the studio or on stage.
- What does the rhythm clip do?
- Pulling the Input Gain knob adds overdrive to the rhythm sound; Marshall presents it as extra crunch.
- Do I need to bias the amp when I replace the EL34s?
- No. Marshall states the combo is cathode biased: the power tubes can be replaced without a bias adjustment.
