Marshall Silver Jubilee 2555X Black Limited Edition 100W Head
The black Marshall Silver Jubilee 2555X is a 100-watt valve amp head: the reference sold is the black-covered limited edition of the Jubilee reissue, with the same electronics, two channels, four EL34s and a 50-watt mode, in a dark finish rather than a silver one.
What sets it apart
- Limited-edition reference with black covering
- The 2555X electronics: 100 W or 50 W
- PEDL-90003 channel footswitch supplied
- 1/4-inch DI output for the desk
- Series effects loop
- Five speaker outputs at 16, 8 and 4 ohms
What changes, and what doesn't
The reference sold is the black limited-edition version of the 2555X. Only the covering changes: the circuit is that of the Silver Jubilee reissue, with three ECC83s, four EL34s, a higher-gain lead channel and a Rhythm Clip on the rhythm channel. It therefore sounds the same as the regular head.
Ready for the stage
Everything you need to play is in the box: the PEDL-90003 channel footswitch, the power cable and the speaker cable. The DI output sends a signal to the front-of-house or recording desk.
The five speaker outputs let you connect a 4x12, two 2x12s or a mix, as long as the total load matches. The series effects loop takes delays and reverbs after the saturation.

Frequently asked questions
- Does the black version sound different?
- No. The covering changes, not the circuit: valves, channels and controls are those of the 2555X.
- Is the footswitch included?
- Yes, the PEDL-90003 channel footswitch is included, along with the power and speaker cables.
- Can I record without a microphone?
- The DI output sends a signal to a desk, but the head must always be connected to a cabinet or a load: never run a valve amp without one.
