Vox amPlug 3 US Silver Headphone Guitar Amp
The Vox amPlug 3 US Silver is a headphone guitar amp that captures the sound of a legendary American combo. It suits country, jazz and blues players who want clear, warm cleans for late practice, with no amp and no unhappy neighbours.
What sets it apart
- Crystal-clear yet warm clean on channel 1
- Smooth, soft drive on channel 2
- Stereo tremolo, chorus, delay and reverb
- Jazz and disco rhythms among the nine patterns
- AUX jack for a backing track
- Fits in a pocket, 40 g without batteries
The American-style clean
Vox describes channel 1 as a crystal-clear yet warm clean: chords keep their definition, even with plenty of reverb. Channel 2 adds a smooth drive that rounds off notes without squashing them. Along with the AC30, it's the only guitar amPlug 3 with tremolo.
Playing in time
The FX/RHYTHM lever starts the rhythms: rock, blues, two pop patterns, jazz, disco, funk, metal and a metronome. Set the tempo by tapping TAP, anywhere from 40 to 240 BPM.
Tremolo runs from 1 to 10 Hz, perfect for a slow surf or country sway.

- That won't work: there's no Bluetooth, only a 1/8" jack for wired headphones.
- Is it suitable for bass?
- It plugs into a bass, but its sounds are aimed at guitar; Vox makes the amPlug 3 Bass and Modern Bass for bassists.
