A worn-out head or a broken pair of sticks the night before rehearsal happens to every drummer. This section brings together acoustic and electronic drum kits, and above all what wears out: Remo and Evans heads, Vic Firth, Vater, ProMark and Los Cabos sticks, Zildjian, Sabian and Paiste cymbals. Gibraltar hardware (stands, tripods, pedals) and hand percussion round out the kit. To practise on headphones without disturbing the house, Roland and Yamaha electronic kits settle the volume question. Changing your heads for the first time? Note the diameter of each drum before you come in: it is the only measurement that matters.
