The Vic Firth Cajon Bru-llet CB1 is a brush and mallet hybrid designed for cajon: the plastic bristles bring out the slap tones, the foam head brings out the bass. It is sold in pairs.

Two sounds, one tool

The cajon is traditionally played with bare hands, but percussionists now look for other sounds on it. Vic Firth found that few cajon brushes actually address what the instrument needs. Hence the Bru-llet: medium-stiff plastic bristles at one end, a 1 1/2 in XLPE foam mallet head at the other, on a hickory shaft.

Vic Firth points to the cajon's Afro-Peruvian origins, a centuries-old instrument that has become a fixture of today's music scene thanks to its portability.
