PreSonus CDL Sub18 18" Powered Subwoofer
The PreSonus CDL Sub18 is an 18" powered subwoofer that adds deep, tight low end to a sound system. Designed as the companion to the CDL10P and CDL12P, it also pairs with other brands' loudspeakers thanks to its variable low-pass filter.
What sets it apart
- 18" woofer, 4" voice coil, 7 mm of excursion before over-excursion
- Class D amplification, 2,000 W peak (1,000 W RMS)
- Variable 50 to 150 Hz low-pass filter to match any loudspeaker
- Polarity invert for building a cardioid setup
- M20 threaded pole mount and M10 fly points
Low end you tune to the room
A menu gives access to the variable low-pass, the output power preset and polarity invert. Two presets extend the bottom of the spectrum, and a mono mode simplifies cabling several subs in a stereo system.
A pole on this sub can carry one or two CDL-series loudspeakers; for more low end, stack two CDL Sub18s. With a CDL loudspeaker, PreSonus supports a pole of up to 79 cm.
Flying the sub
The M10 points are for suspension, with the M10-AI kit recommended by PreSonus and at least four points per sub. No other loudspeaker may be hung from a CDL Sub18.

Frequently asked questions
- Can I pair the CDL Sub18 with another brand's loudspeakers?
- Yes. Its variable low-pass sets the transition with any full-range loudspeaker, and its XLR direct output passes the signal on to the top box or to another sub.
- Is there a P-series subwoofer for the CDL12P?
- PreSonus presents the CDL Sub18 as the companion to the CDL12P and CDL10P: flown or ground-stacked, they form a system with an even response across the spectrum.
- Can the CDL Sub18 be flown?
- Yes, through its M10 points, with at least four suspension points and the recommended M10-AI kit. PreSonus forbids hanging other loudspeakers below the sub.
