D'Addario GH Acoustic Guitar Soundhole Humidifier
The GH is a sponge humidifier that hangs in the soundhole of an acoustic guitar. It puts moisture back inside the body, where the wood dries out, without ever touching the top or the sides.
What sets it apart
- Held by the two centre strings, it hangs in the soundhole
- Sponge releases moisture slowly and evenly
- Suits any acoustic or acoustic-electric guitar
Three steps to set it up
Take off the cap, moisten the sponge, then put the sponge and cap back in place. The humidifier then slips between the two middle strings.
D'Addario recommends distilled water. Too much moisture is as harmful as too little: above 60%, take the humidifier out of the case.

Frequently asked questions
- Where do you put a guitar humidifier?
- In the soundhole, hanging between the two centre strings. The GH never touches the wood.
- How often should you refill it?

- What humidity level is good for a guitar?
- D'Addario's guide puts the safe zone between 40 and 60% relative humidity.
