D'Addario Restore PW-PL-01S Deep Cleaning Cream Polish, 1 oz
Restore PW-PL-01S is a cream polish that deep-cleans an instrument's clear coat: it lifts built-up grime, swirl marks and light scratches. It is the first of D'Addario's three care steps: clean (Restore), seal (Protect), shine (Shine).
What sets it apart
- Removes swirls and light scratches from clear-coated finishes
- Silicone-free formula
- Safe on common finishes, nitrocellulose included after a test
How to apply it
A little cream on a cloth, in small circles. Let it dry, then wipe it off with a clean cloth. Protect, a sealant, comes next, then the Shine spray.

Frequently asked questions
- Does guitar polish remove scratches?
- Light scratches and swirl marks, yes. D'Addario promises nothing beyond that.
- Is Restore safe on a nitrocellulose finish?
- Yes, according to D'Addario, after testing a small spot on the back. On a finish that is already damaged, the maker advises against any polish.
- How often should you polish your guitar?
- D'Addario suggests the full treatment at every string change, with Shine alone in between.
