Frequently asked questions
- Why does my E string keep breaking near the fine tuner?
- A worn fine tuner hook can develop a sharp edge. If breaks keep happening at the same spot, the tuner is worth having checked by a luthier.
- Can I put another brand's E string on a Prelude set?
- Yes, it's common practice. The J811 remains the original E of the J810 set.
- Do steel core strings stay in tune?
- They stretch very little, and D'Addario says they are unaffected by temperature and humidity.
