Marshall DSL20CR 20W 1x12" Two-Channel Tube Combo Amp
The Marshall DSL20CR is a 20-watt tube combo, switchable to 10 watts, with a 12" Celestion Seventy 80: two channels, Classic Gain and Ultra Gain, to go from a bright clean sound to biting overdrive at rehearsal.
What sets it apart
- Two EL34 output tubes
- 20W or 10W at the flick of a switch
- Classic Gain and Ultra Gain channels
- Presence and tone shift to shape the mids
- 12" Celestion Seventy 80
- Emulated output, series loop, footswitch included
Two characters in one amp
Each channel has its own gain and volume: Classic Gain for clean and crunch, Ultra Gain for distortion. Tone shift reshapes the midrange curve, and presence adds bite, as Marshall promises with its full-featured EQ.
Made for rehearsal
At 20 watts, the EL34s keep up with a band; at 10 watts, you keep the tube grit at a lower volume. Three speaker outputs take a 16 or 8-ohm load, and the balanced emulated output feeds a desk. The reverb is digital.

Frequently asked questions
- Why isn't the effects loop working?
- Marshall notes that the footswitch must be plugged in for the effects loop to work.
- Do the EL34s need biasing when replaced?
- No. The DSL20CR is cathode biased: new EL34s go in without a bias adjustment.
- Is the DSL20CR's emulated output balanced?
- Yes, Marshall describes it as balanced, which helps on long cable runs to a desk.
