The 9100M is a tripod drum throne whose height is set by hand and locked twice. The column threads into a heavy lock nut, then a double-locking clamp tightens it to the tripod; a second, vise-style clamp holds the seat on its column. Nothing moves, because nothing is left to a mechanism.

A height you choose once, and that holds
Not every drummer wants to adjust the seat for each song. Many found their height years ago and mostly want nobody to touch it again — a teaching room, a shared rehearsal space, a church kit used by three people.
That is where mechanical adjustment has the edge. No cylinder that can leak over time, no lever a curious child can pull. The column is threaded, the nut is tight, and last month's height is still today's.
Two clamps, two different problems
The double-locking clamp works on the joint between the column and the tripod: it is what keeps the throne from sinking under your weight. The vise-style clamp works on the seat, and prevents a movement many thrones ignore — the seat slowly unscrewing when the drummer always pivots in the same direction.
That second kind of loosening is sneaky: it does not make the throne collapse, it simply lowers the seat a few millimetres each night until the position is no longer right.
