The 9503LB8 is a remote hi-hat operated by cable, delivered stripped down. It comes with its 8 ft cable and a DogBone clamp that locks two tubes together — and nothing else: no drop clutch, no bag, no Mega Clamps.

Who a bare version is for
A drummer setting up a second hi-hat often already has a spare clutch in the bag, sometimes two, and a clamp left over from an old setup. Selling those parts again just makes them pay for duplicates.
This version works the other way around: you get the mechanism, the cable and the clamp that lets you mount it somewhere. The rest, the drummer chooses or already owns. That is the only difference from the complete version of the same hi-hat.
What the included clamp does
The DogBone clamp locks two tubes to each other. It lets you mount the mechanism on an existing cymbal stand, on a rack, on the tube of a tom stand — anywhere there is already an upright tube.
It is the most versatile mount, and often the only one you need. More complex setups, stacking several accessories on the same point, call for additional clamps ordered separately.
The clutch, not to be forgotten
No hi-hat works without a clutch: it is the part that locks the top cymbal to the rod. If you do not have a spare, plan on getting one. A drop clutch, the kind that releases the open cymbals, is a separate choice — handy if the auxiliary hi-hat needs to stay open for a whole song.
