DW 9000 Drum Rack Snare Basket
The 9000 snare basket is a mount that holds the snare drum on the rack and does away with the three legs of its stand. It frees up exactly the floor space where the bass drum pedal, the hi-hat stand and the drummer's legs cross.

Every inch of floor under the snare drum is spoken for
Look at what happens between a drummer's legs: the bass drum pedal, the hi-hat stand, often the left half of a double pedal, and three snare stand legs running through it all. It is the most crowded spot on the instrument.
Removing those three legs changes the setup out of all proportion to the size of the part. The throne can move forward, the hi-hat stand goes where your left arm wants it, and nothing catches on a stand leg when you sit down.
A snare held by the rack, and what that does to the sound
A snare drum on a conventional stand rests on three rubber-covered arms that touch its hoop. In this basket it is held the same way, but the structure carrying it is now tied to the rack, and so to the rest of the setup.

The decisive argument for a rack is repeatability, and the basket takes full advantage of it. Once the clamp is tightened and its memory lock is in place, the snare drum returns to the same spot, at the same height and the same angle, setup after setup.
For a drummer who plays several times a week, that saves time, but above all it saves uncertainty: you do not walk on stage wondering whether the snare is where it was yesterday.
