Three parts that become one
Above the cymbal, the order has always been the same: a felt, a washer, a wing nut. Three separate pieces, two of them small, dark and round — so they disappear the moment they fall.
The captive version joins them together. You unscrew it, and the whole assembly comes off with the wing nut in your hand. Nothing stays on the rod, nothing rolls under the stand base.
