The DWSM773 is a drum multi clamp that links two tubes nothing else was joining. Its two V-shaped jaws accept diameters from 5/8 in to 1 1/4 in, and its nine-inch body gives the distance needed to get around whatever sits between them.

The V-shaped jaw, and why it covers such a range
A flat jaw only touches a round tube at one point: it slips, and you have to clamp hard to make up for it. A V-shaped jaw touches it at two points, on either side of the groove, whatever its diameter within the intended range.
That is what lets this clamp go from 5/8 in to 1 1/4 in without shims or bushings. A thin tube sits at the bottom of the V, a thick tube rests higher on the sides, and both are held the same way.
Nine inches, to get over what is in the way
A short clamp assumes the two tubes are almost side by side. In a real setup, there is a drum, an arm or a cable between them. The length is there to span that obstacle.
It also lets you offset a bulky load — a percussion table, a large-diameter cymbal — far enough that it does not touch anything when it vibrates.

- Yes, that is exactly the point of the V-shaped jaws: each one adjusts independently within the stated range.
- Do I have to remove the tube to install the clamp?
- No. The hinge lets you open the jaw and close it around the tube in place.

- No. The range stops at 1 1/4 in. Beyond that, the jaw no longer closes and the clamp will not hold.
