The DWSM774 is a dogbone multi clamp that joins a tube and a rod: a V-shaped jaw that grips a tube on one side, an eye bolt that takes a sliding rod on the other. Each end adjusts independently on its own ratchet.

Two ways to hold, on the same piece
A tube is clamped from the outside: that is the job of the V. A rod goes through: that is the job of the eye, where it slides before being locked. Those are two different jobs, and most setups need both.
Combining both on one piece saves you from stacking two clamps back to back, which adds play and always ends up twisting out of position.
Adjustment at both ends, one setting at a time
The two ends adjust separately. In practice, you first set the jaw on the supporting tube, at the height you want, then turn the eye to line the rod up at the angle you need — without having to loosen the first setting.

The memory lock, included for a reason
A rod passing through an eye can slip. The supplied memory lock clamps onto that rod and acts as a stop: the insertion depth is remembered, and setting up again gives you exactly the same position.
