The SM783 is the 10.5 mm version of the brand's hinged memory locks. That diameter is the one used for the arms and thin rods of a setup: it is where a setting is lost most easily, because nothing stops it from slipping.

Diameter decides, not brand
Memory locks are chosen by the millimetre, not by brand. A 10.5 mm arm will not take a lock made for 1 in tubing, and the reverse is even more true: if it is too wide, the lock just spins and does nothing.
This size is aimed at the arms that carry cymbals, support rods and small accessory tubes. Measure before ordering, with calipers if you have them — two tenths of a millimetre is enough to make a lock useless.
Locking the depth, and the orientation too
On a cymbal arm, height is not the only setting that gets lost. Orientation matters just as much: a cymbal that comes back turned fifteen degrees no longer plays from the same spot on the throne.
A lock set against the clamp holds both at once. The arm slides in to the stop and ends up on the same axis, which makes the setup repeatable without eyeballing it.
