DW DWSM906 Cymbal Stacker, 6 in, 8 mm Thread
The DWSM906 is a cymbal stacker that gives you six inches of 8 mm threaded post above your cymbal. That extra gap leaves both cymbals room to vibrate separately before they meet, and the sound you get has nothing in common with a tight stack.

Two more inches, a different sound
The stacker's height sets the distance between the two cymbals, and that distance sets the sound. At six inches, the top cymbal has time to vibrate before it meets the bottom one: the attack keeps a tail, and the effect is less abrupt than with a tight stack.
It is also what lets you play the top cymbal on its own, without the stick grazing the one below on every stroke.
