The SMMG992 is a double tom holder that clamps onto a stand already in your setup. Adding two toms to a kit is a space problem before it is a sound problem: there is no floor left for another stand. This holder solves it by putting two tom mounts on a stand you already own.

The V-clamp, and why the angle has to adjust
A clamp with parallel jaws only grips a perfectly vertical tube well. Yet stand tubes are rarely vertical once the kit is set up: they lean to clear a path, to work around a floor tom, to stay steady on a sloped stage.
An angle-adjustable V-clamp closes on the tube whatever its tilt, with two lines of contact instead of one. The grip stays solid even on a tilted tube, which is exactly the real-world situation.
Two mounts, and why they come together
The toms on a kit are not positioned one after the other: they are positioned in relation to each other. Two mounts carried by the same body keep their spacing and relative height from one setup to the next, which two separate clamps on two tubes never do.
The gain shows at teardown more than at setup: there is one less setting to find again the next day, and the pair of drums goes back where the drummer left it.
One less stand on the floor
Every stand on the floor takes up a tripod footprint, about half a metre across. On a small stage, two extra stands are enough to make a setup unworkable.
Adding two toms to a stand that is already there removes that footprint. Setup gets faster too: fewer stands to unfold, fewer heights to find again, one less item to load.
