Why an eyebolt and not a second clamp
A V-clamp holds a tube from the outside, so the arm needs enough diameter to be gripped. A cymbal arm rod, on the other hand, is thin and smooth: the right way to hold it is to pass it through and lock it.
That is exactly what an eyebolt does. The result is more compact than an external clamp and, above all, more secure, because the rod is held through the full thickness of the part instead of over a portion of its circumference.
