Racks are not rectangles
A rack's layout follows the drummer, not geometry. The side bars open up to make room for the arms, the front bar curves around the bass drum, a branch angles off to reach a percussion piece.
With right-angle clamps only, those shapes are impossible: you have to multiply short segments to approximate a diagonal. An adjustable clamp draws it directly, with a single part.
