Raising an organ's volume or opening a filter by hand means one hand off the keys. The Nord EP-15 is a steel expression pedal with a 15° travel: your foot takes over the volume or the assigned parameter, and both hands stay on the keyboard. Nord designed it for all of its instruments equipped with a control pedal input.

EP-15 or EP-30?

Both pedals in Nord's EP series share the steel construction, the rubber surface and the adjustable friction. Only the travel differs: 15° on the EP-15, 30° on the EP-30. A short travel needs less movement and responds quickly; a long travel spreads the same range over a wider motion, for finer nuances. On a Nord Stage 4, for example, the control pedal input is a ¼" stereo TRS jack.
