PreSonus Eris Pro Sub 10 10" Active Studio Subwoofer
The PreSonus Eris Pro Sub 10 is a 10-inch active studio subwoofer, with its driver and port both facing forward, that extends your monitoring down to 20 Hz. It solves a specific problem: 5- to 8-inch monitors don't show what's happening below 40 Hz, and that's where a mix falls apart on a big system.
What sets it apart
- 10" glass-composite driver, light and rigid
- 170 W RMS of Class AB power, 113 dB peak at one metre
- Lowpass filter continuously variable from 50 to 130 Hz
- Included footswitch to bypass the sub with your foot
The bottom of the mix, finally measurable
PreSonus aims it at serious personal studios and professional production rooms, alongside Eris Pro and Eris Studio monitors. The goal isn't more volume: it's hearing the low end as precisely as the rest of the spectrum, thanks to a rigid cone that keeps distortion down.
The driver and bass-reflex port fire forward, which makes it easier to place under a desk or between two monitor stands.
A clean hand-off with your monitors
The lowpass filter sets where the sub stops; the switchable highpass removes everything below 80 Hz from the signal sent to the monitors, so they don't fight the sub. Input gain runs from -30 to +6 dB, and a polarity switch corrects a sub placed away from the speakers.
The footswitch bypasses the sub, the highpass filter and the sub output all at once: you compare your mix with and without the low end without leaving your chair. A ground-lift switch also deals with hum.
