PreSonus Eris Sub 8BT 8" Bluetooth Studio Subwoofer
The PreSonus Eris Sub 8BT is a compact 8-inch front-firing studio subwoofer that also takes Bluetooth 5.0. It adds the low end that small monitors can't reproduce, down to 30 Hz, so a song's kick and bass line can finally be judged by ear instead of by the meter.
What sets it apart
- PreSonus' first studio subwoofer with Bluetooth 5.0
- 8" woven glass fibre driver, 30 to 200 Hz
- Continuously variable lowpass and an 80 Hz highpass filter
- TRS and RCA inputs and outputs to sit between your source and your monitors
The companion to compact Eris monitors
PreSonus voiced it to match its compact Eris monitors, from the Eris 3.5 up to the Eris Studio 5, while staying compatible with other brands. For EDM and hip-hop producers, PreSonus calls it a must-have: in those styles, the bottom of the spectrum makes the track.
At 25 cm wide, 29.9 cm high and 32.3 cm deep, it slides under an ordinary desk.
A real 2.1 system, without muddy bass
The lowpass (50 to 130 Hz) decides where the sub stops; the highpass removes content below 80 Hz from the signal sent to the monitors. Each one works in its own range, without the smeared low end of a system with no crossover. Gain runs from -30 to +6 dB and polarity flips with a switch.
It's also the first PreSonus studio subwoofer to receive Bluetooth 5.0: a phone or tablet connects wirelessly, alongside the wired inputs.

Frequently asked questions
- How do you connect the Eris Sub 8BT?
- The source (interface or mixer) goes into the sub over TRS or RCA, and the sub's outputs feed the monitors. Then set the lowpass and, if needed, the 80 Hz highpass.
- What does the Eris Sub 8BT highpass filter do?
- It removes content below 80 Hz from the signal sent to the monitors; the sub takes over that low end. You can defeat it if your monitors need the full range.
- Does the Eris Sub 8BT work with the Eris 3.5?
- Yes. PreSonus built it to pair with its compact Eris monitors, the Eris 3.5 among them, up to the Eris Studio 5.
- What are the Eris Sub 8BT dimensions?
- 25 cm wide, 29.9 cm high and 32.3 cm deep, according to PreSonus.
