The GTR-FRETMUTELG-1BK is a string dampener, what many players call a fret wrap, in a large size for wide necks: 8-string electric guitars and 6-string basses. Strapped around the neck, it keeps open strings from ringing while you tap.

For many-string necks
The more strings a neck has, the more of them ring sympathetically when you two-hand tap or sweep pick. Gator offers four sizes; this one is for large necks. Wrap it over the fretboard at any fret, or slide it just past the nut when you want the strings to ring freely.
