Gator

The GTSA-KEY76D is a moulded polyethylene flight case for 76-note keyboards that stand taller than most. With 8" of usable height, it takes instruments with a raised control panel that won't close in a regular 76-note case.

What sets it apart

  • 8" interior height for thick keyboards
  • Two TSA-accepted locking latches
  • Recessed in-line wheels rated for 200 lb
  • Interior adjusts with foam wedges and blocks

When the keyboard is too tall for a standard case

A workstation or a synth with a screen and raised knobs quickly gains a few inches in height. In a case that's too shallow, the lid presses on the pots for the whole trip. So Gator drew up a deep version of its 76-note case: the interior measures 51.25" long, 20" deep and 8" high. Measure your instrument at its highest point, knobs included, before you choose.

Built for the cargo hold

The shell is moulded from a polyethylene Gator calls nearly indestructible. The locking latches are TSA accepted and sit in an impact-diverting housing; a red trigger releases them. Inside, foam wedges and blocks move around to lock the keyboard in place. You pull the case by a spring-loaded tow handle rated at 130 lb, and an Ergo-Grip handle is there for lifting. The hardware is black powder coated and the valance runs unbroken around the opening.

Frequently asked questions

Will my 76-note keyboard fit in the GTSA-KEY76D?
Gator doesn't publish a model list. Compare your keyboard's dimensions, knobs included, with the 51.25" x 20" x 8" interior. The foam wedges and blocks fill the remaining space.
What does "TSA-accepted latch" mean?
U.S. airport security officers can open and relock this type of lock with their master key, without breaking the case to inspect it.
Is damage caused by an airline covered?
No. Gator's limited lifetime warranty covers manufacturing defects; damage caused by an air carrier is claimed from that carrier. Wheels and handles are covered for one year.
