The PreSonus HP4 is a four-output headphone amplifier: it takes a stereo signal and sends it to four headphones, each with its own volume. No more musician who can't hear because the interface's headphone jack is too weak.

What sets it apart

  • 4 x 1/4 in. headphone outputs, 130 mW per channel
  • One volume knob per headphone
  • 2 balanced line inputs and 2 balanced monitor outputs
  • Mono button and monitor output mute
  • Daisy-chains to another HP4 or an HP60
  • One-third-rack chassis

Easy to hook up

Run the line outputs of your interface or mixer into the HP4's two inputs, then plug the headphones in up front. The rear monitor outputs send the signal on to speakers, with their own level and a mute button that leaves the headphones live.

Built to last

The knobs are metal, detented and sealed against dust. The compact chassis sits on a table or screws onto a rack shelf, not included, where it takes up one third of the width.

Frequently asked questions

How do I hook up the HP4?
Line outputs from the interface or console into the HP4 inputs, headphones up front, and if needed the monitor outputs to your powered speakers.
Does it work with consumer earbuds?
Yes, with any headphones from 32 to 600 ohms. Volume varies by model: low-impedance headphones will play louder at the same setting.
Can I link two HP4s?
Yes: the monitor outputs of the first feed the inputs of the second, or those of an HP60 to add six more headphones.
Can each musician get their own mix?
No, all four headphones get the same signal with separate volume. For a mix per musician, PreSonus offers the HP60, which has an input on each channel.
