Zildjian K Sweet 18" Crash Cymbal
The K Sweet 18" Crash is a dark, sweet crash cymbal at the balance point of the collection: brightness, definition and sustain are all rated 5 out of 10. It is the natural main crash of a K Sweet kit, the one that fits almost every song.
What sets it apart
- Perfect balance on the Sound Lab scale: 5, 5 and 5
- Dark, sweet sound, fast attack
- Unlathed bell that keeps the sound dark
- Traditional K-style hammering
The K Sweet collection
Zildjian created the K Sweet collection to push the K family toward new colours: dark, sweet and highly responsive. The crashes get a bell left raw, unlathed, and traditional K-style hammering. The result is a darker sound that speaks fast and answers the lightest stroke.
Why the 18"
In the range, the 18" is the centre. Smaller, the crash gets livelier and shorter; larger, darker and longer. At 18", no single trait dominates, which makes it a versatile main crash, at ease from jazz to mellow rock.

Frequently asked questions
- Are Zildjian K Sweet cymbals good?
- They extend the K family, one of Zildjian's flagship lines, toward a sweeter, more responsive sound. Their dark tone is especially popular in the studio, in jazz and in mellow music.
- K Sweet or A Custom?
- Two opposite directions: the A Custom is bright and glassy, with a brilliant finish; the K Sweet is dark and sweet, with K hammering. It comes down to the colour you want.
- How do you clean a K cymbal?
- If it has a traditional or natural finish, Zildjian recommends a clean, dry cloth and no cleaner: a product can alter the finish in unexpected ways.
