The K Cluster Crash 18" is a thin effects crash with a trashy, "dirty" sound. Hammer marks grouped in clusters are added to traditional K hammering, and the bell is left unlathed: the attack is fast, the sound dark and gritty.

Where the "dirty" sound comes from

Zildjian combines its traditional K hammering with extra marks grouped in clusters. The result is darker and trashier than a K crash, with a fast attack and great response. The bell, left unlathed, adds to this raw character.

The 18" in the series

The K Cluster Crash comes in 16", 18" and 20". Sound Lab rates the 18" 5 for brightness, 2 for dryness, 7 for definition and 6 for sustain: cleaner and longer than the 16" (5 and 5), it keeps the same dryness.
