Zildjian K Custom Fast Crash 14" Crash Cymbal
The K Custom Fast Crash 14" is a small, thin, light and airy crash cymbal with a dark, explosive sound that dies away very quickly. It responds faster and goes quiet sooner than a regular K Custom Crash: a dark, brief, crisp accent.
What sets it apart
- A light, airy crash
- Dark, explosive sound
- A distinctive bell design
- Quicker response, faster decay
A redesigned bell
The K Custom Fast Crash takes the K Custom Crash and gives it a new bell design. According to Zildjian, that change gives it a quicker response and a shorter decay. At 14", the effect is at its peak: definition and sustain of 2 on the Sound Lab, with a brightness of 8.
Dark, even when small
Small crashes are often high and piercing. This one stays in the K Custom colour: the explosion is dark, the air around it light. It slips between two snare strokes without grating on the ear.

Frequently asked questions
- Fast crash or thin crash?
- A thin crash is thin and opens quickly, but it can sustain for a long time. A fast crash is built to die away early: here, Zildjian redesigned the bell to speed up the response and shorten the decay.
- K Custom Fast or A Custom Fast at 14"?
- Same sustain (2), same definition (2). The A Custom is at 10 for brightness, the K Custom at 8, with a darker sound. In a K setup, the K Custom Fast fits in better.
- K Custom Fast Crash 14", 16" or 18"?
- The 14" is a flash (sustain 2); the 16" a little fuller (3); the 18" becomes a real fast crash, with 5 for definition and sustain.
