Marshall Origin20C 20W 1x10" Tube Guitar Combo Amp
The Marshall Origin20C is a 20 W tube guitar combo that drops to about 3 W or 0.5 W with a single control: you keep the sound of a pushed valve amp, EL34s included, at a volume that suits home and the small bar alike.
What sets it apart
- All-valve: ECC83s and two EL34s
- Powerstem: 20 W, approx. 3 W or approx. 0.5 W
- Tilt: blend between normal and bright voices
- Footswitchable gain boost and effects loop
- PEDL-90016 two-way footswitch included
- 10 in. Celestion VT-Junior
Pushed-valve volume, at home
A tube amp sounds best when it's pushed, and that's exactly when it gets too loud for an apartment. The Origin20C's Powerstem lowers the valve voltages to go from 20 W to about 3 W, then about 0.5 W, without changing amps.
The same combo covers weeknights at home and Saturday in a small room.
One channel, many sounds
The Origin has a single channel, but the tilt control blends a normal and a brighter voice, and the boost adds gain for solos. The included footswitch controls the boost and the effects loop.
The 10 in. Celestion VT-Junior keeps the combo compact: 13.9 kg and 520 mm wide.

Frequently asked questions
- Does the Origin20C have reverb?
- No. Marshall lists none among its controls; a reverb pedal in the effects loop fills the gap.
- Does the Origin20C take pedals well?
- Yes: its clean sounds make a good platform for drive pedals, and the series effects loop welcomes delay and reverb.
- Can you play the Origin20C at low volume?
- That's what Powerstem is for: about 3 W or about 0.5 W instead of 20 W, so you can push the valves without cranking the volume.
- Is the footswitch included?
- Yes, the PEDL-90016 two-way footswitch is included. It controls the boost and the effects loop.
