Marshall Origin50C 50W 1x12" Tube Guitar Combo Amp
The Marshall Origin50C is a 50 W tube guitar combo with a 12 in. speaker, powerful enough to keep up with a drummer on stage, and able to drop to about 10 W or 5 W when rehearsal happens in the basement.
What sets it apart
- 50 W from EL34 valves, scalable to approx. 10 or 5 W
- 12 in. Celestion G12N-60 Midnight 60
- Gain boost via pull knob or footswitch
- Tilt to blend the normal and bright voices
- Switchable series effects loop
- PEDL-90016 footswitch included
From the stage to the basement
Fifty valve watts is the headroom you need for a clean sound to stay clean when the band turns up. But the same power is too much at home. Powerstem lowers the valve voltages to go to about 10 W, then about 5 W, keeping the character of pushed EL34s.
Three speaker outputs (16 Ω and 8 Ω) let you add a cab when the room gets bigger.
A 12 in. speaker
Where the Origin20C uses a 10 in., the Origin50C carries a 60 W, 12 in. Celestion G12N-60 Midnight 60. The combo weighs 18.2 kg and measures 580 × 480 × 245 mm.
The boost, engaged by pulling the gain knob or from the footswitch, adds saturation for solos; the tilt sets how bright the channel sounds.

Frequently asked questions
- Is the Origin50C too loud for home?
- At 50 W, yes. Powerstem brings it down to about 10 W or 5 W, which is still real valve-amp volume but better suited to a closed room.
- Does the Origin50C have reverb?
- No, Marshall lists none. A reverb pedal plugs into the effects loop.
- Can I connect an external cab?
- Yes, through the 16 Ω and 8 Ω speaker outputs. Respect the total impedance marked on the back of the amp.
