Shure PS43US 15 V Power Supply for Wireless Receivers
The Shure PS43US is an external 15 V DC power supply that runs several Shure wireless receivers, including the GLXD4 and the ULXD4, as well as the P9T wireless transmitter. A receiver whose power supply was left in another room is useless: this one brings it back to life.
What sets it apart
- 15 V DC output at 0.6 A, or 9 W
- Universal input from 100 to 240 V AC, 50 to 60 Hz
- Only 0.1 W drawn with no load attached
- Two mounting tabs built into the housing for permanent installs
What it powers
Shure presents the PS43 as the supply for two of its wireless mic receivers, the GLXD4 (GLX-D line) and the ULXD4 (ULX-D digital line), as well as its P9T wireless transmitter. Its U.S. page also lists the SLXD4+ and SLXD4D+ receivers from the SLX-D+ line among compatible products. The user guide for the GLXD4+ receiver, from the GLX-D+ line, starts the hookup with the PS43: that receiver needs 14.5 to 17 V at 600 mA, and the PS43 delivers 15 V at 0.6 A.
Built to stay plugged in
The PS43 is a switching power supply. Shure lists an average efficiency of 84.2% and a draw of 0.1 W when nothing is connected, meeting U.S. Department of Energy Level VI. Its two mounting tabs let it be screwed under a table or inside a control-room cabinet instead of hanging from its cord.
What Shure asks
The manufacturer's guide says not to expose it to water or moisture, not to block its ventilation openings and not to install it near a heat source. It recommends unplugging it during lightning storms. There are no user-serviceable parts inside.
