Zildjian S 10" Splash Cymbal
The S Splash 10" is a thin, very bright and quick splash cymbal with a cutting sound. It adds a short, clean accent to any setup, with a little more body than the 8" splash.
What sets it apart
- Brightness rated 10 out of 10
- Definition rated 6: more body than the 8"
- Instant response, short sustain
- Brilliant finish
Quick, bright, cutting
Zildjian sums up the S Splash in three words: quick, bright, cutting. On the Sound Lab, the 10" hits 10 for brightness, 4 for dryness, 6 for definition and 2 for sustain. The accent springs out, cuts, then disappears before the next stroke.
Two inches that change everything
Compared with the 8", the 10" nearly doubles the definition (6 against 3) and gains dryness. It keeps the same maximum brightness, but its accent has more substance. Zildjian also says it works well as part of a mini stack.

Frequently asked questions
- What size splash cymbal should I get?
- The 8" is the shortest and highest; the 10" has more body. At Zildjian, the 10" S Splash rates 6 for definition, against 3 for the 8".
- Splash or china?
- A splash is small, bright and very short: a flash. A china is larger, lower and trashy: a snap. The two complement each other on a kit.
- What does a splash cymbal sound like?
- A brief, high "tshak" that dies almost at once. This one sits at the top of Zildjian's brightness scale: it stands out clearly, even in a busy mix.
