Vic Firth Ahmir "Questlove" Thompson Signature Drumsticks, Natural Finish
The Vic Firth Ahmir "Questlove" Thompson natural is Questlove's stick without paint or Vic Grip: plain lacquered hickory, 17 in long and 0.52 in thick. It is for players who like that long, slim profile but would rather feel the wood.
What sets it apart
- Lacquered hickory, no coating
- One of Vic Firth's longest, thinnest sticks
- Teardrop tip, long taper
The same stick, minus the coating
Questlove's stick first came in white with the anti-slip Vic Grip coating. Vic Firth also offers it bare, with no paint and no Vic Grip. Nothing else changes: 17 in, an extended taper that gives a sharp stroke, and the 0.52 in diameter the Roots drummer wanted light in the hand to hold his pocket. So the choice comes down to feel, smooth or grippy.
