Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 Studio 4th Gen 2-Input Recording Bundle with Mic and Headphones
The Scarlett 2i2 Studio 4th Gen is a recording bundle that captures two sources at once: your voice through the CM25 MkIII mic and your guitar plugged into the interface, each on its own track. The box holds the Scarlett 2i2 audio interface, that condenser mic, SH-450 closed-back headphones and the cables. It is the bundle for people who play and sing at the same time, or record as a duo.
What sets it apart
- Two mic preamps with 69 dB of gain range
- Two high-impedance instrument inputs on the front panel
- Auto Gain sets the level while you play
- Clip Safe adjusts the gain when a peak threatens to clip
- Air mode in Presence and Harmonic Drive flavours
- 120 dB of dynamic range at the line outputs
Two tracks at once: why it matters
Singing while you accompany yourself is a performance. Recording it in two passes often kills the feel. With two preamps, the 2i2 puts the vocal on one track and the guitar on the other in the same take, and you keep the freedom to shape each one in the mix.
The two inputs also handle a duo, a face-to-face interview, or a keyboard in stereo on the line inputs.
Auto Gain and Clip Safe
Setting a recording level is where beginners lose the most takes. With Auto Gain, you press the button, play or sing, and the interface sets the level for you. Clip Safe then keeps watch on the signal and pulls the gain down if a louder moment is about to distort.
What's in the box
The CM25 MkIII is a condenser mic powered by the interface's 48 V, and it comes with a pop filter. The SH-450 is a closed-back headphone: it keeps what you hear apart from what the mic picks up. A 3 m XLR cable leaves room between the desk and the mic stand.

Frequently asked questions
- What's the difference between the Solo Studio and the 2i2 Studio?
- The mic and headphones are the same. The interface changes: the 2i2 has two mic preamps and two instrument inputs, plus Auto Gain and Clip Safe. The Solo Studio records one mic source at a time.
- Can I record vocals and guitar at the same time?
- Yes: the mic on one input, the guitar on the other, each on its own track.
- Are the included headphones open-back or closed-back?
- Closed-back. The SH-450 limits bleed into the mic while you record.
- Do I need to install a driver?
- Not on a Mac. On Windows you install the Focusrite driver; the Easy Start tool guides you through setup.
