Marshall Studio JTM ST20C 20W 1x12" Tube Guitar Combo Amp
The Marshall Studio JTM ST20C is a 20 W tube guitar combo, built in Bletchley, that brings back the warm, smooth 60s sound of the JTM45: four inputs, two channels you can bridge, a 12 in. Celestion Creamback and a 5 W setting.
What sets it apart
- Tone inspired by the 60s JTM45
- Four inputs and two bridgeable channels
- Two 5881 power valves
- 20 W or 5 W
- 12 in. Celestion G12M-65 Creamback
- Solid metal "coffin" logo, gold piping and beading
Jumping the channels, 60s style
The ST20C has two channels, Normal and High Treble, each with high and low sensitivity inputs. Link an input on each channel with a short cable and they play together, with the blend set by their two volumes, Loudness I and Loudness II.
That is what Marshall means by "bridgeable" channels: the old trick of the players of that era.
From warm clean to overdrive
Pushed, the combo breaks up smoothly; turned down, it keeps a warm clean sound that takes pedals well. The 5 W setting lets you push the valves at home.
A series effects loop, a DI output and five speaker outputs (16, 8, 4 Ω) bring it up to date without touching its original character.

Frequently asked questions
- How do I jump the channels on the ST20C?
- Plug the guitar into a high-sensitivity input, then link that channel's low input to an input on the other channel with a short cable. The two volumes set the blend.
- Does the ST20C have a lot of clean headroom?
- Set low, it stays clean and warm and works as a pedal platform. Pushed, it breaks up smoothly.
- Does the ST20C have reverb?
- Marshall lists none among its controls. The series effects loop takes a reverb pedal.
