Audix

The DN4 is an interface that brings four Audix installation mics onto a Dante or AES67 network: each mic connects over a single shielded network cable that carries audio, phantom power, the button and the LEDs.

What sets it apart

  • Four RJ45 ports for Audix mics
  • 24-bit, 48 kHz audio, Dante or AES67
  • Powered by 802.3af PoE
  • Button and LED logic on each port

One cable per mic

A conventional analog mic needs audio cable, sometimes a control wire and a preamp per mic. The Audix Dante system puts it all on a shielded CAT cable with RJ45 plugs at both ends. Fewer runs through the ceiling, fewer wiring mistakes, and a quicker install. The DN4 takes Audix single-element mics fitted with an RJ45 jack, such as the M70WD and M55WD ceiling mics.

Adjusted remotely

Each channel has its own gain, in eight steps from 0 to +36 dB, a high-pass filter at 15 or 238 Hz and a low-pass filter that is off or set to 5, 7 or 10 kHz. Everything is set in software, with no ladder required, and flash memory keeps the settings through a power cut.

Buttons and LEDs on the network

Each port provides a logic input for the mic's button and two 5 V outputs for its LEDs, driven by the room's processor over the network. The DN4 is Dante Domain Manager ready, takes a static or dynamic IP address, and is evaluated to UL2043 for installation above a drop ceiling.

Frequently asked questions

Does it need a separate power supply?
Not with an 802.3af-compliant PoE switch; an external 48 V DC supply is also an option.
Which mics plug into the DN4?
Audix single-element mics fitted with an RJ45 jack, such as the M70WD and M55WD.
Do the mics' buttons and LEDs work?
Yes: each port has a logic input and two 5 V outputs, controlled by the processor on the network.
