Your weaker foot has nothing extra to learn on a double
An offset cam speeds the beater up at the end of the stroke. The right foot, which works every day, learns that acceleration and uses it. The left foot, meanwhile, is discovering the motion, the lag of the linkage and that surge of speed all at once. Three unknowns at the same time.
With a Turbo cam, the third one disappears. The ratio between what the footboard travels and what the beater travels never changes: the left foot only has to learn where to sit and how much to give. Many drummers who could not even out their two feet find out that this was where the problem came from.
Why hex shafts rather than round ones
A round shaft transmits its motion through a screw tightened on its smooth surface. Under repeated strokes, that screw ends up marking the metal, then turning in the mark it has dug: the shaft slips a degree or two, and the left side falls behind without warning.
A hex profile cannot turn in its housing: the shape itself carries the torque, and the screw only holds the shaft in place. It is a difference you cannot see in a store and that you measure after three years of gigs.
A hard-lined case, and what it really protects
Ballistic nylon resists the abrasion of floors and loading. The hard lining protects something else: your settings. A double pedal thrown into a soft bin takes knocks on its stroke and spring screws, and a setup found after months of trial and error is lost in a single night.
Every part — the two halves, the shaft, the beaters — has its place. Setting up the next day stops being a rebuild.

- What is the difference from the Accelerator version of the same pedal?
- The cam. Turbo keeps a constant ratio; Accelerator makes the beater gain speed at the end of the stroke. The rest of the mechanism is the same.
- Is a Turbo cam slower?
- No. Its speed depends entirely on your foot rather than on the geometry. What drummers used to an offset cam feel at first is the absence of a whip effect, not a lack of power.
