DW 9002XF Double Bass Drum Pedal — Extended Footboards
The 9002XF is a double bass drum pedal with both footboards extended. On a double, that detail carries real weight: the left foot, often less practised, gets the same surface to work on as the right, and both sides end up responding the same way.

The real problem with a double pedal: floor space
Between the hi-hat and the bass drum, space is tight. An auxiliary pedal on a wide base forces the hi-hat back, and the left foot ends up travelling between two positions that are too far apart.
The single-post base on the 9002XF solves this through geometry: less material to the left of the footboard, so the auxiliary pedal slides in closer to the hi-hat stand. The drummer keeps their usual seating position instead of rearranging the whole kit around the double pedal.
Why both footboards should be identical
On a double, the ear hears any asymmetry right away. If the weak foot works on a shorter board, or farther from the pivot point, its strokes come out lighter and slightly late. The drummer compensates by forcing, and fatigue sets in faster than precision.
Extending both footboards removes that asymmetry at the source: the surface is the same under each foot, and the less trained side stops working in different conditions from the other.
Adjustment is done pedal by pedal
The two cams are adjusted separately. That is intentional: many drummers need a little more acceleration on the weak side to even out the power, or a slightly tighter spring on one side only. You tune the pedal the way you tune a drum, by listening.
